Dr. Wei SHAN has been playing a key role in JA Solar’s R&D success story since 2008. He has more than 30 years experience in both academic research and industrial development of many relevant semiconductor material systems including silicon, germanium, II-VI and III-V compounds, wide-band-gap nitrides, dilute III-nitrides and related nanostructures such as quantum wells, wires, and dots, as well as optoelectronic and photovoltaic device applications based on these material systems. Previously, he was associate professor at Shanghai Institute of Technical Physics at the Chinese Academy of Science, senior research fellow at the Center for Laser and Photonics Research of Oklahoma State University, staff scientist at the Material Sciences Division of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL), senior scientist at Intemax Corporation where he was in charge of US DOE funded hydrogen generation and storage programs. He has published more than 160 peer-reviewed journal articles as well as prestigious conference papers and essays. Furthermore, he holds four US patents and four Chinese patents.
